At post 6 minutes.  Start poor and slow.  Won easily: second and third driving.  Man o’ War away fast, opened up a big lead at the back stretch turn, raced under restraint thereafter, and was eased up in the final sixteenth.  Upset broke well and moved up stoutly in the early running but could never overtake the winner.  Homely raced ending pressure all the way, saved ground throughout and held on gamely in the final drive.  Bonnie Mary broke poorly and was taken to the outside, closed an immense gap in the first quarter and moved up steadily to the last eighth, where she began tiring.  By Golly ran an even race.  Rouleau was taken wide all the way.  Feodor showed early speed, but failed to stay.  Sandy Beal was away poorly.

Winner—Ch. c. by Whisk Broom II–Pankurst by Voter, trained by James Rowe, bred by Mr. Harry Payne Whitney.  Went to post at 4:10. At post 4 minutes.  Start poor and slow.  Won driving: second and third same.  Upset followed the leader closely from the start, moved up with a rush in the last eighth, and, taking the lead, held on gamely when challenged and just lasted long enough to withstand Man o’ War’s challenge.  The latter began slowly and moved up steadily to the stretch turn, where he got into close quarters, then came to the outside in the final eighth, and responding gamely to punishment, was gaining in the closing strides.  Golden Broom showed great speed in pacemaking, but tired when challenged.  Captain Alcock began slowly and closed a big gap.  Armistice ran well from a poor beginning.  Donnacona ran forwardly in the early running, but was carried wide on the stretch turn and tired.

At post 12 minutes.  Start good and slow.  Won easily: second and third driving.  Man o’ War followed Constancy under slight restraint in the early running and assumed command at his leisure when entering the stretch, to win in a canter.  Cleopatra broke slowly, but went around the leaders when rounding the stretch turn, then closed gamely in a stretch run and easily disposed of Constancy.  The latter, a quick beginner, set a fast pace in the early running, but faltered in the final eighth. Hasten On, a forward contender, moved up strong on the inside then straightened out in the stretch, but was pinched off at the eighth pole by Constancy and could never recover.  Upset, in a tangle at the start, was hard urged and did not appear to favor the going.  Dr. Clark showed good speed for a half mile. Ethel Gray and Capt. Alcock could never improve their positions.
